ski travel insurance explained
Get the right ski travel insurance and make sure you're protected
Whether you're a seasoned pro or having a go for the first time, it's important to make sure that whenever you purchase a skiing holiday, you purchase skiing travel insurance too. Get a quote and get covered.
As well as covering the usual holiday risks, ski travel insurance also covers the all-important risk of accidents and damage to equipment. No matter how good you are at skiing, there is always the chance that a slip of the ski will result in a fall and the possibility of bumps and bruises - or worse.
The cost of medical treatment and replacing equipment can quickly escalate, and without insurance, it will be down to you to pay the bill. It is recommended that you always carry an EHIC, but don't rely on it because it won't include all the cover you need. The only way to ensure that all potential costs are taken care of is with a special ski travel insurance policy.
If you're taking more than one holiday during the year, annual travel insurance may be best for you, and includes:
- 17 days of winter sports cover free of charge
- 24 hour access to an emergency assistance team
- free cover for anyone under 19 years of age
Additional days needed can be added to your policy for an extra cost. If you just want to insure one holiday, you can purchase a single trip policy (which will incur an additional premium).
As with any insurance policy, there are some conditions so check out the
policy wording.
